The Ancient Sun Cross & Solar Calendar

The ancient sun cross has been found in many places. It is mostly found in Europe and North America.  It is an ancient Celtic and Anglo-Saxon symbol. The sun cross symbol was in use prior to Noah’s flood.  The sun cross can be traced back to Enoch’s solar calendar and Noah’s quarterly celebrations of the seasons established after the flood.  It is an ancient paleo-Hebrew symbol meaning ownership, seal and sign referring to our Father in Heaven.

The Sun Cross was a very popular symbol in the Mississippi Valley and Southeast America in ancient times.  See this article for more information.  See this article to view the sun cross on an ancient cup found in Illinois

The Ancient Mark or Sign

Two crossed sticks in the shape of an ‘X’ or ‘t’ in ancient paleo-Hebrew meant ‘owner’s mark’.  Therefore these ancient sun crosses are also an ancient mark indicating ownership belongs to their Father in Heaven.

For more information, see Christian Flag history and the similar ‘Chi-Rho’ Jesus Christ symbol represented as ‘XP’.

Christians who were illiterate signed their name with the ‘x’ indicating they were Christians and belonged to their Father in Heaven.  Jews did oppose using the mark of an 'x' and instead used a circle to sign their name.

Ancient Solar Calendars

Reflected below are ancient calendar wheel of the year that the descendants of Noah used to track time.  They all tracked the Equinoxes and Solstices which are used to determine the start of each season.  Some calendars, like the Celtic and Tewa calendars, also tracked the midpoint between each season which is called cross quarter days.  The Celtic calendar also tracked the sun’s position in each constellation; this is used to determine a sidereal day (more info below).

The Cross Quarter Dates are actually tracking the Bear Ursa Major Constellation for festival dates.
The Celtic Wheel of the year is organized just like Enoch’s calendar says it should be organized.  It has four equal quarters of the year representing the four seasons. It is tracking the sun and the stars as described by Enoch.

Enoch’s Calendar

Enoch’s calendar is described in the Book of Enoch in chapter 82.

“Blessed are all the righteous, blessed are all those who walk In the way of righteousness and sin not as the sinners, in the reckoning of all their days in which the sun traverses the heaven, entering into and departing from the portals for thirty days with the heads of thousands of the order of the stars, together with the four which are intercalated which divide the four portions of the year, which lead them and enter with them four days.” Enoch 82:4-5

Enoch goes on to tell that the solar year is divided into four quarters of 91 days each.  91 days divided by 7 days in each week equals 13 weeks for each quarter as the Book of Jubilees states.  Reflected below are the four quarters or seasons of the year described by Enoch:

Below is Enoch’s monthly calendar of 12 months each year:

Calendar legend:
·         NM – New Moon
·         G-SA – The Sabbath date on our current Gregorian calendar.
·         Red text – Holy feast day where no work is to be performed other than the work required to have the feast; however, the Sabbath is rest only.
·         Colored text – feast day

The ‘sun cross’ actually represents the earth’s four seasons based on the sun’s overhead position.  The Celtic Wheel of the Year and Tewa calendar are in agreement with Enoch’s calendar of four equal seasons of 91 days each.

Noah’s descendants implemented methods to track the sun, moon and the stars based instructions received from Noah’s grandfather Enoch. These instructions are documented in the book of Enoch and were given to Enoch by the angel Uriel. The sun and stars are used for telling time.  The moon is used as a sign and tool that also helped ensure the calendar is correct since the cycle of the moon repeats itself every three years as shown on the Dead Sea Scroll calendar.

Noah’s descendants tracked the equinoxes and the solstices since they occur at the end of each quarter. This was verification that the new season or quarter would be starting.  They were not to actually celebrate the day of the equinox and solstices these were just time keeping tools to ensure their calendar was correct.  They were to celebrate the first day of each quarter.  I believe the reason they were not to celebrate the equinoxes and solstice is because the equinoxes occur on different dates around the world depending on where you live.  Alaska, for example has a longer winter than does Mexico.  Today our calendars give the date for the equinoxes and solstice based on universal time and not local time.  This is also true for the new moon and full moon dates on our printed calendar are also given based on universal time and not local time.   The date and time of the equinoxes and solstice have to do with the tilt of the earth sometimes called the circuit of the sun.

In the sun he has set his tabernacle; and he comes forth as a bridegroom out of his chamber: he will exult as a giant to run his course. His going forth is from the extremity of heaven, and his circuit to the other end of heaven: and no one shall be hidden from his heat.” Psa 19:5-6

A model of Enoch’s solar gates has been discovered in Peru that works just as Enoch and King David described (above).  Watch how the sun travels through the gates or tops of the hills as described by Enoch and King David.  This solar calendar is in the southern hemisphere so it is opposite of how we would use it in the northern hemisphere to tell the time of the year.

Here is an Inca solar calendar that works the same as the gates in Peru above.  The Inca gates do note the date of April 3rd, which is typically when Passover occurs. These gates are in the northern hemisphere.

The diagram below shows how the circuit of the sun works using a ‘sun cross’ or ‘Celtic Cross’ to mark the earth’s equator and meridian.  The sun’s circuit stays always between the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn which are marked positions on the earth.

The Enoch calendar given to Noah is based on the latitude of the earth and the sun’s course is between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn.  The equator is the center point of the sun’s course.  Locations in the extreme north or south experience the season differently than those on the equator; therefore these extreme locations do not have equal seasons of 91 days each described in the book of Enoch and the book of Jubilees agrees stating 13 weeks for each season.

The circle on the Celtic cross represents the earth and the inner circle represents the sun’s direct impact of its rays shining on the earth between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn.  The Sun reaches the observer's zenith when it is 90° above the horizon, and this only happens between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. So the sun’s tabernacle is between these two tropic lines and it where the sun runs its course.  The cross itself represents the meridian and the equator. If you place the cross on the equator the seasons are 91 days each like Enoch said.  There is a very ancient astronomical observatory in Ecuador called Monte Catequilla where the calculation is perfect and many believe this location is the true ‘middle of the world’.  The GPS location is 0°00'00.0"N 78°25'43.3"W.  Monte Catequilla has alignments to the equinoxes and solstices.

Monte Catequilla is the true ‘middle of the earth’ for determining the equinoxes and solstices since it meet these requirements:  The equinoxes and solstices are on the 91st day of each quarter and fall on a Tuesday.  The sun was created on the fourth day of the week, which is now called Wednesday (Gen 1:16); therefore the 91st day of the first quarter would fall on a Tuesday (see calendar below & DSS calendar).  The New Year must consistently begin in the spring on a Wednesday so that the Sabbath day is on Saturday and so the weekly cycle of seven days is never broken.  Our Sabbath day must continue to be in agreement with our Father in Heavens Sabbath day which is the seventh day (Gen 2:1-3).  According to the Dead Sea Scroll Temple Calendar on the first day of the year (first day of spring), every third year, there must be a full moon and on March 20, 2019 there will be a full moon (DSS, lunar cycle 1)

Below shows how the earth spin making the sun’s zenith change during the year.

Today we define a year by the earth’s orbit around the sun which is called a topical year.  When the year makes one complete orbit around the sun and gets back to it starting position that is called a tropical year and that takes 365.25 days.  Enoch’s year was based on the sun’s position on the equator.  When the sun reaches its zenith on the equator during March a new year of 364 days begins.

Noah’s Quarterly Celebrations

The book of Jubilees provides more information than the book of Genesis does regarding the covenant that our Father in Heaven made with Noah and his descendants.  It states Noah’s descendants were to celebrate the first day of the first, fourth, seventh, and tenth months which use to be the first day of the beginning of each season on the old Enoch calendar, Celtic Wheel of the Year and the Native American calendar shown above. These are celebrations based on the sun’s position on earth.
And on the new moon [sic.. 1st day] of the first month, and on the new moon [sic.. 1st day] of the fourth month, and on the new moon [sic.. 1st day] of the seventh month, and on the new moon [sic.. 1st day] of the tenth month are the days of remembrance, and the days of the seasons in the four divisions of the year. These are written and ordained as a testimony for ever. And Noah ordained them for himself as feasts for the generations for ever, so that they have become thereby a memorial unto him. And on the new moon [sic.. 1st day] of the first month he was bidden to make for himself an ark, and on that (day) the earth became dry and he opened (the ark) and saw the earth. And on the new moon [sic.. 1st day] of the fourth month the mouths of the depths of the abyss beneath were closed. And on the new moon [sic.. 1st day] of the seventh month all the mouths of the abysses of the earth were opened, and the waters began to descend into them. And on the new moon [sic.. 1st day] of the tenth month the tops of the mountains were seen, and Noah was glad. And on this account he ordained them for himself as feasts for a memorial for ever, and thus are they ordained. And they placed them on the heavenly tablets, each had thirteen weeks; from one to another (passed) their memorial, from the first to the second, and from the second to the third, and from the third to the fourth. And all the days of the commandment will be two and fifty weeks of days, and (these will make) the entire year complete. Thus it is engraven and ordained on the heavenly tablets. And there is no neglecting (this commandment) for a single year or from year to year. And command thou the children of Israel that they observe the years according to this reckoning- three hundred and sixty-four days, and (these) will constitute a complete year, and they will not disturb its time from its days and from its feasts; for everything will fall out in them according to their testimony, and they will not leave out any day nor disturb any feasts. But if they do neglect and do not observe them according to His commandment, then they will disturb all their seasons and the years will be dislodged from this (order), [and they will disturb the seasons and the years will be dislodged] and they will neglect their ordinances. And all the children of Israel will forget and will not find the path of the years, and will forget the new moons, and seasons, and sabbaths and they will go wrong as to all the order of the years. For I know and from henceforth will I declare it unto thee, and it is not of my own devising; for the book (lies) written before me, and on the heavenly tablets the division of days is ordained, lest they forget the feasts of the covenant and walk according to the feasts of the Gentiles after their error and after their ignorance. For there will be those who will assuredly make observations of the moon -how (it) disturbs the seasons and comes in from year to year ten days too soon. For this reason the years will come upon them when they will disturb (the order), and make an abominable (day) the day of testimony, and an unclean day a feast day, and they will confound all the days, the holy with the unclean, and the unclean day with the holy; for they will go wrong as to the months and sabbaths and feasts and jubilees. For this reason I command and testify to thee that thou mayst testify to them; for after thy death thy children will disturb (them), so that they will not make the year three hundred and sixty-four days only, and for this reason they will go wrong as to the new moons and seasons and sabbaths and festivals, and they will eat all kinds of blood with all kinds of flesh. Jubilees 6:22-38

Note: Please see this article that shows the words ‘new moon’ should not be in the text above and are a translation error.   Our seasons are dictated by the circuit of the sun and not the moon.   The moon is for signs only.

According to the book of Jubilees and the Dead Sea Scrolls the old calendar was arranged as shown above in the book of Enoch.  The first day of the first, forth, seventh, and tenth months were the first day of each season and quarter of the year which should always be on the 4th day of the week so that the calendar stays in sync with its creation date indicated in Genesis chapter one.

Our Father in Heaven wanted us to celebrate the first day of each season to ensure that we keep track of time accurately and we did not forget HIS calendar.

Ancient Time Tracking Tools

Noah’s descendants invented the ancient staff and cross to measure angles of the sun, moon and stars to ensure their calendar was correct so that they celebrated the feast days on the correct dates.

During biblical times they used a staff to identify cardinal directions using the sun and stars similar to how we use a compass today.  Here are a few examples.

Jacob Israel had a staff which he brought with him as he crossed the Jordan River:

And Jacob said, God of my father Abraam, and God of my father Isaac, O Lord, thou art he that said to me, Depart quickly to the land of thy birth, and I will do thee good. Let there be to me a sufficiency of all the justice and all the truth which thou hast wrought with thy servant; for with this my staff I passed over this Jordan, and now I am become two camps.” Sep Gen 32:9-10
By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.” ASV Hebrews 11:21

Judah had a staff:

And as they were bringing her, she sent to her father-in-law, saying, I am with child by the man whose these things are; and she said, See whose is this ring and bracelet and staff.” Sep Gen 38:25

King David found comfort by owning a staff:

Yea, even if I should walk in the midst of the shadow of death, I will not be afraid of evils: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, these have comforted me.” Sep Psa 23:4

Jesus tells the apostles to not take their staff when he sent them out to preach the gospel:

And he called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. And he sent them forth to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staff, nor wallet, nor bread, nor money; neither have two coats.” ASV Luke 9:1-3

The Greeks had an ancient computer they developed to compute the motion of astronomical positions and eclipses for calendar and astrological uses called the Antikythera mechanism.  It was found on the bottom of the ocean as part of a ship wreck.  They believe that it is dated to about 100 BC.  This mechanism also had the names of the constellation on it. It had the ability to tell time based on the sun, moon and stars.

The children of Noah built precise time tracking mounds and petroglyphs to track the angle of the sun in relationship to the earth.

Chaco Canyon is only a 3 hour drive away from the Los Lunas stone which reflects the 10 commandments in Paleo-Hebrew.  This 10 commandment stone is the oldest in the world and it does have a spiral petroglyph next to it.

Only the Children of Noah would have cared about precise time tracking to ensure their feast days were on the correct dates and to keep their agriculture year on track.

The Sidereal Day verses the Tropical Day

Noah’s descendants’ tracked time based upon a sidereal day not a tropical day.  The book of Enoch and book of Jubilees both state that the year is to be 364 days.

“And command thou the children of Israel that they observe the years according to this reckoning- three hundred and sixty-four days, and (these) will constitute a complete year, and they will not disturb its time from its days and from its feasts.”  Jubilees 6:32

On that day the night decreases and amounts to nine parts, and the day to nine parts, and the night is equal to the day and the year is exactly as to its days three hundred and sixty-four.” Enoch 72:32

Here are the definitions of each:

Sidereal Day

A measurement of time relative to the position of the stars and relating to a measurement of time relative to the point of the vernal equinox.  A sidereal day is approximately 23 hours, 56 minutes.  As shown on the Celtic Wheel of the Year above, the sun’s position within the constellation is used to determine time.

Topical Day

The Tropical Day is based on the Topical Year of 365.25 day.  A civil day is used that starts midnight: this is near the time of the lower culmination of the Sun on the central meridian of the time zone. Such a day may be referred to as a calendar day. A day is commonly divided into 24 hours of 60 minutes, with each minute composed of 60 seconds.

Difference

The time difference between a sidereal day and civil day is 24 hours.

·         The civil day is 4 minutes longer than a sidereal day.  4 minutes x 364 equals 1456 minutes a year.  1456 minutes divided by 60 minutes equals 24.26 hours.

·         The civil day is 4 minutes longer than a sidereal day.  4 minutes x 365 equals 1460 minutes a year.  1460 minutes divided by 60 minutes equals 24.33 hours.

Sidereal time keeping agrees with the Enoch, Jubilees and Celtic Wheel of the Year reflecting a year of 364 days.

Wheel of the Year

The ‘Celtic Wheel of the Year’ calendar was also established on the ground to track the sun’s movement and the time of the year.  In North America they are called Medicine Wheels and in Europe they are called a Stonehenge’s.  All of these could track time based on the position of the sun and stars. Some also tracked the moon.

The Medicine Wheels and Stonehenge’s of the world are further proof that Noah’s descendants knew how to track time very early and built monuments to prove it. The Majorville Cairn and Medicine Wheel site in Alberta Canada dates all the way back to 3200 BC; therefore was built shortly after the Noah’s flood event.

The Celtic Wheel of the Year, the Enoch calendar, the Jubilees calendar and the Dead Sea Scrolls temple calendar all agree with Genesis chapter one as follows:

Conclusion

The ‘sun cross’ is an important part of our Celtic and Anglo-Saxon heritage.  The Celtic Sun Cross represents the cardinal directions and seasons that our Father in Heaven created.  Old pictures of Jesus reflect him with a ‘sun cross’ behind HIS head since HE provides us with the light of liberty and good directions for us to follow.
