In this 1838 news article
it states that the Indians are the lost tribes of Israel and they celebrated
feast days that are very similar to the biblical feast days: Feast of First
Fruits, Passover, Feast of Weeks (Pentecost), Feast of Harvest (Tabernacles),
and the Day of the Expiration of Sin (Last Great Day). They also celebrated new corn as stated in Deuteronomy
16:9.
